What we offer

Therapy that meets you where you are.

Every person's story is different. I offer a range of services designed to support adults and couples through trauma, anxiety, relationship struggles, and more — in person in Goodyear, AZ or via telehealth throughout Arizona.

One-on-one support tailored to your story.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a dedicated space for you — to process what you're carrying, understand patterns that may be holding you back, and build the tools for lasting change. Whether you're navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, or simply a season of feeling stuck, we'll work together at your pace with compassion and without judgment.

Healing trauma at its root.

EMDR & Trauma-Focused Care

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy developed specifically to help people heal from trauma and distressing life experiences. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR works by helping your brain reprocess traumatic memories so they lose their emotional charge — allowing you to move forward without being pulled back by the past.

Couples Counseling

A closer look at EMDR

What is EMDR, and how does it work?

EMDR — Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing — is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps people heal from the lasting effects of trauma and other distressing experiences. It was developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s and is now recognized by the World Health Organization, the American Psychological Association, and the Department of Veterans Affairs as a highly effective treatment for trauma.

How it works

When something traumatic or deeply distressing happens, the brain can struggle to process the experience the way it normally would. The memory gets "stuck" — stored with the same intensity of emotion, sensation, and belief as the moment it occurred. That's why a smell, a sound, or a passing thought can suddenly bring the full weight of a past experience rushing back.

EMDR uses bilateral stimulation — typically guided eye movements, tapping, or auditory tones — to activate both sides of the brain while you briefly focus on a distressing memory. This mimics what happens naturally during REM sleep, allowing the brain to reprocess the memory and store it in a way that no longer triggers the same emotional response. The memory doesn't disappear — but it loses its grip.

What EMDR can help with

  • Trauma & PTSD — Including single-incident trauma, complex trauma, childhood abuse, accidents, and medical trauma.
  • Anxiety & Panic — Reducing the intensity of anxious responses rooted in past experiences or ongoing stress.
  • Depression — Addressing the underlying experiences and beliefs that contribute to persistent low mood.
  • Grief & Loss — Processing complicated grief and the pain of loss in a way that allows for healing.
  • Phobias — Desensitizing specific fears and phobias that interfere with daily life.
  • Low Self-Worth — Reprocessing the experiences and messages that shaped negative beliefs about yourself.

My approach

What makes Frost Counseling different.

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Every session is shaped by who you are, what you've been through, and where you want to go. I draw from evidence-based methods — including EMDR, CBT, DBT, and somatic approaches — while honoring the whole person: mind, body, and soul. For clients who hold a Christian faith, I'm glad to integrate that into our work. For those who don't, you are equally welcome here.
